Valley Elementary School

IN FAVOR OF KEEPING THE GRIZZLY BEAR ON THE ENDANGERED SPEICES LIST, THEN SEND YOUR KIDS TO SCHOOLS LIKE THESE.

Tyler and I took a drive up the south fork of the Shoshoni River this afternoon just out of Cody Wyoming to see elk, deer, and big horn sheep.  Snow was slightly falling and to our delight, we saw about 100 elk, 50 deer, and 35 big horn sheep.  About 30 miles up the canyon, we came across this cool little school (Valley Elementary) in the photo above.

The play area is completely enclosed with a fence about seven feet tall and these signs posted.  Just last spring in this area a man was irrigating when he surprised a sow and cub grizzly.  The sow in turn attacked him sending him to the hospital with major injuries.

Wapiti school in the same district up the north fork, (on the way to Yellowstone) from Cody has the same problem and BEAR fence.

Tyler said that "these schools should be Bear Free Zones."
