Reinner Wildlife Area Near Hyattville Wyoming

I am still working for the Big Horn County Weed and Pest.  Today we were cutting and spraying russian olive trees (considered a pest) on the Reinner Wildlife Refuge.  I thought it was some pretty cool looking country. Reinner is about 50 miles southwest of Burlington, WY between Hyattville and Ten Sleep Wyoming.

Halloween and Tylers Birthday

Julia and Tyler were quite creative in carving their own pumpkins.  Julia's was sleeping including a night cap  and Tyler followed a pattern of a cat.  Both worked hard in drawing and tracing their carvings.

The next two pictures were taken during Tyler's 10th Birthday Party and the last photo is of a story Tyler wrote in class after eating Cheese Puff and describing what that experience is like.

Good Wyoming Deer

Today a family friend went elk hunting in the Big Horn Mountains and came home with this nice Mule Deer.  He shot it at about 300 yards.  The rack measures 28+  inches.

The Final Volley

Here are the last two minutes of the seventh grade Burlington Huskies (Black and Orange) season closer.  They had a very successful season with 11 wins and 2 losses.  The game clip above was played in Burlington during the last game of a tournament.  Cloud Peak Middle School (red and black) is the opponent and Julia is the player on the left side of the screen #33 (in black) next to the net.

Family Resemblance?

Tyler is standing next to a portrait of a young Grandpa Mortenson painted by Glen.  Do you think they may be related?

Burlington vs Greybull

Julia is really enjoying volleyball this year.  This game took place in Greybull Wyoming against the Geybull.  The first three photos are during warm-ups and the remainder were taken during the game.  It's fun to watch Julia have fun with volleyball and her teammates.

Wildlife on a Sunday Afternoon

I know these photos are not the best quality however they are fun.  Tyler and I drove about fifteen miles out of town to see these.  Some are Whitetails and some are Mule Deer.  Enjoy.

Big Bob Tomato

Finally the tomatoes are beginning to ripen.  Tyler found this one hiding under one of our many bushes.  It is sitting on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper with a pen to give the picture some scale.

Wyoming Northern Exposure

On the way to job site high atop the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming, these moose were right off the side of Highway 14A east of Hunt Mountain Road (Road 10).

Moose Moose Everywhere

Last week we were working in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming spraying weeds in the Paint Rock lakes area.  On this particular day, we saw a total of five bull moose including these four.  Its amazing.  We see moose on almost a daily basis and so far, they have all been in different locations.  The video clip posted below is of the two moose in the bottom picture.  It was raining at the time I made the video.
