I took this video today working with Big Horn County Weed and Pest.  .  It overlooks Shell Canyon and Ranger Creek Campground in the Bighorn Mountains.  What a view!

Spraying CanadaThistle in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming

Working for Big Horn County Weed and Pest has its advantages.  This week we were working in the Big Horn Mountains spraying Canada Thistle on a ridge south of Ranger Creek near the Bench Timber Sale.  Below is Shell Canyon, what a view.

Beartooth Highway

Yesterday afternoon we started up the Beartooth Highway ( One of the highest roads in the world) with a summit at just under 11,000 feet.  Time ran short so we didn't make the summit.  It's only about a two hour drive from Burlington.  The Beartooth runs Red Lodge Montana to Yellowstone Park.  Most of these photos were taken just a little above the 9,000 foot level at a rest stop.  Red Lodge is a beautiful little community.

Smith Mine Montana

On the way to the Bear Tooth Highway, we took a few minutes to explore the old Smith Mine just a few miles out of the beautiful town of Red Lodge Montana. A return trip will be required to explore the buildings in detail.  NOTE:  The story of the mine is on the sign.
