Tyler's Pinewood Derby Race

Tyler competed in this years pinewood derby and took fourth place after four heats.  In the video posted above (click on the arrow under the black screen), he won the round.  Watch for his GOLD car winning in lane 3.   

SOUTHFORK- Southwest of Cody Wyoming

Tyler is feeling better after his bout with the flu so this morning we took a ride up Southfork just out of Cody.  Southfork is the southfork of the Shoshoni River (Native American Name:  Stinking River).  This area is a known wintering area for several types of Big Game including Bighorn Sheep, Elk, Deer, and Bears.  Just after a winter storm is the best time to see the Bighorn Sheep, Deer, and Elk when they are driven down to the valley floor.  Tyler and I also discovered that many people Ice Climb in this area on many of the frozen waterfalls. 

Burlington Winter Wonderland

Morning brought a light blanket of frost.  These pictures were taken in about an hour within three miles of the house.  For the past month, the high for the day has been in the low 30's and the lows in the negative single digits. 

Christmas Photos from Logan and Ogden Utah 2012

Christmas at Grandma Mortenson's was fun this year.    The first photo is Julia and Tyler opening presents, the second is J.P. letting Julia ride his horse in Ogden, Third is a copy of the Leg Lamp from the movie Christmas Story (can you believe someon is Logan had that in their window) and pictures four and five are of Julia and Tyler having fun while sledding in the park.  Logan got over a foot of new snow while we were there.

Picture 2.  I was told Glen used chalk for this piece of work and it only took a few days.  Glen
                 enlarged a Greg Olsen picture for girls camp.

Picture 4:  This portrait of Roy Mortenson (our father) was painted some years ago.  The photo it
                  was taken from is in the lower left corner when dad was a kid.  Grandma thought Tyler
                  looks a lot like his grandfather.  Tyler's school pictures is the color photo.
