Legend Rock Petroglyphs
There are dozens and dozens of petroglyphs at Legend Rock and a great trail to walk along and observe. The site is located between Meeteetse and Thermopolis Wyoming west of highway 120 just north of Hamilton Dome.
Old Home and Schoolhouse
I ran across these old buildings while I was looking for the Petroglyphs of Legend Rock near Hamilton Dome between Thermopolis and Meeteetse Wyoming. The are off of highway 170.

October 2013 Conference At The Wyoming Mortenson House
Every LDS General Conference, the kids like to build a tent before settling in to watch. I think this is the best one yet :-)

Ms Artist
Julia loves art. It only took her about two hours to draw and color a modified version of a minion from the movie "Despicable Me"

Putting Pressure on the QB
Julia's Art Work
As an 8th grader Julia is required to take an art class this quarter. It has been fun watching her draw. Each week the students are required to do a sketch. I am amazed, it only takes Julia an hour or two to finish each project. She drew the dragon at Tyler's football game yesterday and colored it this morning. The top drawing is a copy of a farside cartoon.

Labor Day in Burlington
Tyler is currently playing tackle football with the Greybull Recreation District. So far he loves it and I think he will do well. The middle pictures were taken east of Greybull out near the Dinosaur Tracks. Julia knew of an abandoned ant hill where the ants had brought up small fossilized starfish along with the pebbles (middle pictures).
We also caught, photographed and released a little horn toad I haven't seen one of these in many years. The kids really wanted to make a pet out of it.
And finally, the bottom picture is of Tyler's first rabbit. We were out plinking a few miles from the house when he spotted the rabbit about forty yards across the canal. The first shot went high but the second met its mark.

Kissing a Deer Last Night
Tyler and I were just leaving Cody on our way back to Burlington when a doe and a fawn decided to walk right into our lane while we were going 60 mph. I hit the breaks and tried to go between both of them just clipping the back end of the doe. Fortunately for us, we didn't hit her head on. Returning to the seen, the doe was no where to be found.
The second photo I took just out of Worland Wyoming this morning on the way to work. In time we as a family may be moving to this area. From where I took the picture you could see two corn fields, an alfalfa field, and some sugar beets.

Out With The Old, In With The New
Recently we had to move into our new abode the (trailer house) in the first picture from the gray house in the bottom picture. Going from a 4 bedroom 1 bath house to a 2 bedroom 1 bath has required a bit of downsizing but we did it. Renting a portable storage container became a necessity because the closest mini storage is 25 miles from Burlington. Even though the new abode is small, we are happy. Rentals are hard to come by in the area.

And That's The Way They Became The Bean Field Bunch
Starting in mid July, Sheila, Julia, and Tyler went to work weeding bean fields here in Burlington Wyoming. In a couple of weeks they cleared at least 40 acres of beans within two miles of the house. As for me, I have worked in the fields a little due to the fact that I have been working for Aflac over the past three weeks.

Fourth of July In The Bighorn Mountains
Shell Canyon and Ranger Creek were a great places to spend a hot July 4th day. We played in the water, caught over ten trout, enjoyed a thunderstorm and saw a moose and it's baby.
Summer In The Bighorn Mountains Of Wyoming
The Bighorns are alive with wildflowers. I have been spraying for Bighorn County Weed and Pest again this spring and summer and what amazing color. These photos were taken from Ranger Creek Campground up road 17 to Paint Rock Lakes. The above photos are only a few of the many I have taken in the last week. Some of the meadows I have come across are around 100 acres in size all of which are brimming with color. Amazing.

Tornado's and Wolves and Bears "Oh My!"
Since living so close to Yellowstone National Park (100 miles east) we try to take our first annual trip around Memorial Day. Going to the park is one of Tyler's favorite things to do. As we left Burlington, Sheila spotted a Tornado between Burlington and Meteetse and then we went on to have an enjoyable day of viewing the country and wild life. There are two other entries listed below that include Yellowstone. The first is of photos and the second is of video. We hope you enjoy our show.
